There are two main components to the Social Sharing module. The first is links to your social network pages that you place in your header, footer, sidebar, or other common areas of your site. From here users can like your site, and then your data is displayed in their social network feeds.
The 2nd component is adding sharing links to individual pages, such as products and blog posts. This links directly to the social media sites, and allows customer to like or favorite individual pages on your site.
